You don’t have to be ruled by fate. You can choose freedom. And I still believe that that’s something worth fighting for.
i have something i wanna say about this whole mcbusted thing but i am SO bad with words so this undoubtedly wont make any sense and will probably be really offensive but i am honestly past caring right now.
i know we don’t know all the facts, and i know there’s no ‘proof’ that mcbusted is going to become permanent, but the fact we’re just sat on the sidelines watching this thing unfold - it’s scary. we don’t know how big its going to get or how long it’s going to go on.
i’m sick of being complained about for complaining and worrying - not just me personally but it seems anyone who expresses any amount of upset or worry about mcbusted seems to get some kind of sly dig from other fans. and the worst part? 90% of the time it will be from a foreign fan.
this is where what i’m about to say probably gets offensive and doesn’t apply to every single non-UK-based mcfly fan but if you can’t take it then you’re probably better off unfollowing me or whatever.
unless you’re from the UK and have followed mcfly the way half their fanbase have from day one, following them like lapdogs up and down the country for the better part of your life, you will not understand. other countries (particularly the states) simply aren’t set up in the right way for someone to follow a band loyally unless you’re made of money or own a private jet. the UK is t i n y - it’s SO much easier for us to go all out when a band goes on tour here. in 9 hours you can drive from the bottom of england right up to scotland. when a band tours in the UK it is so much easier for us to go to multiple shows because they’re not hours and miles apart - usually you can jump from show to show in a couple of hours. it’s basically the equivalent of them doing a 20 date tour in a singular US state.
i’m sorry that not everyone can experience it but you have to understand that when your favourite band, the band you’ve invested years of your life and thousands and thousands of pounds into, the band that quite literally saved your life, suddenly gets threatened it’s gonna be upsetting and worrying.
no, we don’t know the facts but we’ve been in this fandom long enough to know when something doesn’t feel right - and this doesn’t.
the mcbusted collab and tour is doing great for them, they’re selling out huge arenas and there’s so much demand that they have to add so many extra dates and that is honestly overwhelming and i’m so happy for them that they can do that again, but i’m worried they’re gonna take it too far.
the last few dates they’ve added to the tour aren’t selling out and that’s partly because people are getting sick of it now. it was meant to be a fun exclusive thing and its great that they’ve added extra shows so people who missed out on tickets in the first place still get a chance to go, but it was sold to us as being exclusive and special and something you’d never be able to experience ever again.
we’ve been promised album 6 since way back in 2012 and the fact it’s still getting pushed back is awful. we keep having our hopes built up just to have them shattered again and that isn’t anything that any of us want.
and before you think otherwise, i’m not for a second blaming mcfly or busted themselves. these things are always down to management in the end and prestige management are the biggest pile of dicks i’ve ever come across.
bleh whatever, like i said at first i am horrific with words so this probably makes no sense and is probably really offensive but i can’t be fucked anymore.
Can I just add that I’m not trying to start shit up, but even though I haven’t had the opportunity to follow them across the country in multiple tours etc, I did spent 7 years of my life being a fan etc. That being said, it’s just just about being disrespectful towards the UK fans, but also worldwide fans. First and foremost, because they said this would be an one time thing for one tour and all. Then they started adding tour dates, which in theory is great, because it means demand, but they kept forgetting they have fans all around the world and would start making a big deal out of it, as if they were to announce some world tour dates or whatever. Then we got the album being postponed to 2014, which is all good and great, even though it’s not the ideal situation, we can wait a couple of months more, no biggie. But then apparently they postponed the album until 2015 and might be planning on releasing a McBusted album before, though these are rumours, it’s something they didn’t even think about addressing at the goddamn press release they had not two days after these rumours started. So. Yeah.
So, best case scenario: This tour starts off great and then the last dates are dates in which the arenas aren’t that crowded. And worst case: this whole thing blow up on their faces. Think about Super City going down kind of worst, but multiply it by 5 or 6 times. Especially because they are trying to turn every single McFLY-related thing into a McBusted. Don’t even get me started on the Jingle Bell interview, because even the interviewer was sort of !!!! with the fact that James and Matt were tagging along for a MCFLY concert.
